About Us
Stambecco Holdings was founded on a simple conviction: that patient, deeply researched ownership of undervalued businesses is the surest path to lasting returns. That conviction begins with the people who lead it.
Founder & Chairman
Chairman · Chief Executive Officer · Fund Manager
Alfred Hale Hoak founded Stambecco Holdings and serves as its Chairman, Chief Executive Officer, and Fund Manager. He has invested with a disciplined value orientation since 2017, and the firm is a direct expression of the philosophy he has refined over those years: buy good businesses at a discount, understand them better than the market does, and hold them.
His focus is the part of the market most investors overlook — undervalued small- and micro-cap companies, where careful, independent research still uncovers meaningful mispricing. He leads the firm's research and portfolio construction personally, sourcing each idea, doing the analytical work behind it, and sizing positions with conviction rather than convention. His approach is informed by close study of the investors who built durable records through patience and discipline, and by the belief that concentration in a few well-understood names beats diversification into many poorly understood ones.
As a holding company, Stambecco is built to own rather than to trade. Under his leadership, the firm measures success in business cycles rather than quarters — and lets time and compounding do the work that activity cannot.

Board of Directors
Alongside its Chairman, Stambecco's board brings distinct perspectives across public markets, private-market analysis, and digital assets.
Maxwell Johnson brings analytical rigor and a builder's mindset to the board. An economics scholar at Claremont McKenna College with a distinguished academic record, he is a founding member of the Claremont Private Equity Group and has built financial models across M&A and credit analysis. He is also the founder and president of a Dallas financial-literacy nonprofit that has taught sound money principles to more than one hundred children — reflecting a conviction, shared across our board, that disciplined thinking about capital compounds over a lifetime.
James Hoak has been an active investor for roughly six years, with particular depth in cryptocurrency and options markets. His experience across digital assets and derivatives gives the board a complementary vantage point on emerging markets, volatility, and risk — perspectives that sharpen how Stambecco evaluates opportunity beyond traditional equities and stress-tests its long-term positions.
